Pet Travel Tips for People that Want to Vacation With Their Dogs

Have you ever taken a holiday and found other families vacationing with their dogs? Many people now consist of their dogs on holidays, and maybe you can too! Below are a few things to think about before you bring your puppy:

Does your pet want to vacation? Lots of dogs are more compared to happy to embark on a new journey… but that’s not true for every dog. On a jet, most dogs will have to take flight in the cargo hold and you also won’t be able to check on their well-being.

What are accommodation’s pet policies? Pet procedures can vary widely from place to place. Check to see if there are size constraints on dogs; if there’s a maximum number of dogs granted per room; whether there are extra pet fees; and what other rules they have for those traveling with dogs. For example, accommodations often don’t allow pets to remain unattended in guest rooms.

Are you prepared to be a goodwill ambassador for pet travel? Many hotels and accommodations won’t let pets of any kind, regardless of the size the pet or how well-behaved it really is. Some lodgings used to let pets and no longer do this because of a bad experience with a visiting pet. Yet there are several wonderful, friendly, well-behaved pets who will be excellent guests. Dogs who will be the best guests are those who will be reliably house-trained, well-mannered around people and other pets, and generally quiet (as well as will be quiet upon demand). The goal is to enjoy your holiday with your dog while also enabling other guests to enjoy their own too.

Of course, it should go without saying that everyone should cleanup after their dogs. Which includes picking up after them as well because wiping off their paws or toweling off water/dirt from their layers before re-entering the guest room.
